As a commonly used research method, the “comparative method” has often neglected the discussion of its limitations and academic significance in previous studies. Roughly speaking, the “comparative method” is similar to other methods of historical research, and is a subjective and purposeful research method, from which conclusions drawn are also a kind of historical cognition and historical interpretation. Not only that, there are differences in everything in the world, so pure comparative research has no value, and the value of comparative research must be outside or above comparative research itself. In addition to explaining differences, changes, and changes, comparative studies can also explain similarities and continuity. Only by understanding similarities and continuities can we have a deeper understanding of differences, changes, and transformations. Thus the revelation of similarities and continuities should also be an area for future comparative studies. |
